Self Esteem & Empowerment Group for Adolescent Girls

  • A 7 week group that educates about self-esteem, body image, healthy relationships, and empowerment.

Purpose of Group:

  • This group will consist of adolescent girls and will assist them to develop healthy self-esteem, body image, and social skills

Who is invited?

  • Girls ages 13 to 17 (6 to 10 participants per group)
  • This group is open to current Generations patients as well as those who are not patients of Generations
  • If you are already a Generations patient (medical, dental, or behavioral health), your provider can help you with a referral to the group. If you are not a patient, your provider can refer you.

When:

  • Wednesdays 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm from July 12th to August 23, 2023
  • No new members accepted for this session after the first week

Where:

  • Generations Family Health Center (202 Pomfret Street, Putnam, CT)

Learning Objectives:

  • We are going to be exploring topics such as:
    • Creating healthy body image
    • Improving self-esteem
    • Improving self-concept
    • Fostering creativity
    • Understanding stereotypes and diversity

  • Medicaid and most private insurances accepted. Not insured? You may qualify for a discounted rate, please ask about our Sliding Fee Scale program when you register.
